ViziLite Plus is a screening device that can assist in the detection of oral cancer. ViziLite Plus will aid in identifying and evaluating abnormalities. Early detection is crucial in oral cancer and this is one way to be proactive. The ViziLite Plus exam begins with a mouth rinse; then Dr Rick will examine your mouth using a special light that will help him identify any suspicious lesions. If a lesion is detected, it will be marked with a blue dye and documented. At this point, you may be scheduled for a re-check appointment with Dr. Rick or referred to an oral surgeon for a biopsy. When oral cancer is found early, treatment is less invasive and the prospect for a cure is excellent.
